Separated stacks stretch across western Austria to slow down any Allied drive towards Vienna.

Left behind are a stack surrounded in Hannover, a string of 5 stacks from the minor city of Gottingen to 2 hexes west of Erfurt, a stack surrounded in Frankfurt, an isolated stack in the minor city of Bamberg, an isolated stack in Nurnberg, and a stack that could only retreat just southeast of the minor city of Regenburg. By the end of the turn the continuous front line is 26 hexes long and has an average defense strength of 10.8 pts.
