Axis Turn

Because the Allies had closed up to the southern part of the Axis defense line the previous turn, and after advance after combat were now within 3 hexes of the Westwall, the Germans declare their second emergency with the Westwall Restoration. The Axis receive no reinforcements this turn, the one ‘returning’ PzG XX having never left. The Germans replace 9x Inf XX’s and 3x PzG X’s. The Germans replace 2 air groups and repair 8. The Germans disband a Tiger II and an Aslt Gun II for 6x Arm RP’s.

The new defense line starts on the coast at Dieppe and runs in a straight line southeast for 21 hexes. The front line includes 2 bocage hexes, 1 fort, 4 woods hexes, 1 wooded rough hex, and 2 mountain hexes. In its last hex the line went southwest to a fort just west of Mulhouse in an effort to keep the Allies 2 hexes away from the Rhine River. By the end of the turn the front line was 22 hexes long and had an average defense strength of 14.1 pts.
